FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
OFFICE POLICIES
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
Dr. Bhalla is considered an out-of-network physician and does not participate in insurance plans. Insurance companies dictate the amount of time and frequency of appointments, which is inadequate in providing quality care. Dr. Bhalla believes it takes more than 10-15 minutes for a follow-up appointment when one is prescribed medication. This is in accordance with the recommendations of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
You may pay via check, cash, HSA card, or credit card. An itemized receipt will be sent to you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Most families receive anywhere between 30%-80% reimbursement from their insurers. You must check with your insurance provider to determine what your out-of-network benefit is. Medicare and Medicaid will not cover these services as Dr. Bhalla has opted out of their systems.
WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT OPTIONS?
Payment is expected at the time of service via check, cash, HSA card or credit card. Sorry, we do not accept American Express. Credit cards may be placed on file with us for automatic billing.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Your appointment time is specifically reserved for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule a follow-up appointment, please call 24 business hours in advance. Failure to do so will incur a full appointment fee. Emergencies are excluded and at the discretion of the practice. Initial evaluations need to be canceled 48 business hours in advance. This allows us to offer the time slot to our waitlisted patients.
DO YOU CHARGE LATE FEES ON OVERDUE BALANCES?
Yes, a $10 late fee is charged every 30 days that your balance is past due. Full payment is due at time of service.
HOW DO I GET A PRESCRIPTION REFILL?
All prescription refills will be sent on the date of your appointment. Dr. Bhalla will provide enough medication until your next scheduled appointment. In the event you miss your appointment, please schedule a new one as soon as possible.
If a refill is needed, please allow 2 business days' advance notice. Refill requests will be fulfilled during business hours.
Prior authorizations are completed by Dr. Bhalla as a courtesy to the patient. Ultimately, it is your contract with your insurance company that dictates whether a prescribed medication is approved. Appeals beyond prior authorizations are charged at a fee.
HOW QUICKLY DO YOU RETURN PHONE CALLS?
Voicemail messages will be checked during routine business hours from Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.. Routine messages will be returned in 24-48 business hours. 911 should be contacted for emergencies.
WHO DO I CONTACT WITH BILLING & SCHEDULING QUESTIONS?
Please call the office at (609) 285-5851 or email princetonmentalhealthllc@gmail.com.
WHEN ARE THE INTAKE FORMS DUE FOR A NEW PATIENT EVALUATION?
Initial evaluation intake forms need to be completed and electronically submitted through the CHARM health patient portal one week prior to the appointment. This will allow Dr. Bhalla the time to carefully review your medical history in advance of your appointment. If we do not receive the forms by the intake form due date, the appointment will automatically be canceled.
